A recent engineering graduate arrives at a plant with the systemshown in Figure 3. The pump sends 10 ft/min of water at 100°F fromthe lower tank to the upper tank whose height between the twoliquid surfaces is 115 ft. The suction and discharge pipes have adiameter of 2 in. However, the suction pipe is Schedule 40stainless steel and the discharge pipe is PVC. Use Graph 1 todetermine:
a) The diameter of the impeller b) The bhp of the pump (hP)
