Question: Water is to be transfered from a tank to another tank at higher level as shown in Figure P1 below. The piping system is made from carbon steel with surface roughness of 0.15 mm, inside diameter of 100 mm, total length of 120 m and the sum of the loss coefficient for the fitting is -15. The flow can be assumed to be fully turbulent and the Reynolds number can be assume constant at Re=120x10⁰ The characteristic of pump is given as follows: 284² It is specified that the system must transfer the water at design flow rate of 3500 min (a) Proposed your pumping arrangement either single pump or double pump in series or double pump in parallel or show your analysis on the plot (b) Comment which arrangement is better and provide your explanation (c) Calculate the pump power requirement if the pumps have efficiencies of 75% at 3500 termin Note please provide all your evidence during calculation such as moody chart and assume density of water is 1000 kg/m 2.5 M Pump
