Given: Beam dimensions, b × h = 350 mm x 500 mm Effective cover of steel reinforcement = 75 mm Concrete compressive strength, f= 28 Mpa Main reinforcing steel, fy = 415 MPa Stirrups, f = 275 Mpa Shear strength reduction factor = 0.75 Beam is subjected to shear and flexure only. 1. If the beam is reinforced with 3 legs of 10 mm diameter stirrups spaced at 90 mm on center, determine the shear strength, V, (kN), of the beam? 2. To develop shear strength of 375 kN, find the spacing (mm) of 16 mm diameter stirrups, consisting of 3 legs. 3. What is the allowable maximum spacing (mm) of 2 legs of 10 mm diameter stirrups?
