Given below are a number of questions that relate to improvingthe quality of classroom assessments. For each of the sixquestions, answer the following: (i) Does the question raise aconcern related to validity or reliability? (ii) What action willyou take as a teacher to address this concern in order tostrengthen the validity or reliability? a) Can we infer a student’sknowledge and skills related to the intended learning outcomes ofan instructional unit from the assessment? b) Does the assessmentadequately sample the intended learning outcomes? c) Can we predictperformance on a related assessment that is designed to measure thesame learning objectives? d) Are the criteria for grading theassessment as objective as possible? e) Are the questions,directions, and formatting on the assessment free from systematicerror? f) Do I have enough questions for each intended learningoutcome that I am assessing? (1.5 marks each)
