A charge Q is distributed uniformly around the perimeter of a ring of radius R. Determine the electric potential difference between the point at the center of the ring and a point on its axis at a distance 19R from the center. (Use any variable or symbol stated above along with the following as necessary: k.) AV = V(0) - V(19R) = X First, determine the electric potential at the center of the ring by summing the contributions dV due to all the small charge segments dq on the ring. Second, using the same technique, determine the electric potential at the desired point on the axis. A simple figure might help you determine the distance from the point to the charge elements dq on the ring. Knowing the electric potential at the two points, you can determine the potential difference between them.
