Purpose: to examine the motion of a projectile.
Hypotheses: Predict the path of the projectile and its speed atthe beginning of its journey (t = 0), at the top of its path, andwhen it returns to the starting point at the end of itsjourney.

Materials: water balloon measuring tape
Procedure:
1. Measure the height of the height of the wall.
2. Prepare to record and time the flight of the waterballoon.
3. Throw the water balloon straight up as close to the top ofthe wall as possible and record its flight up and down.
4. Repeat until you are sure that you have at least one goodrecording with timing.
Analysis:
1. Determine the maximum height of the balloon above itsstarting point.
2. Determine the time taken for the flight from the startingpoint to end point (return to start).
3. Determine the time taken for the upward flight.
4. Determine the time taken for the downward flight.
5. Determine the average speed upwards.
6. Determine the average speed downwards.
7. Determine the initial speed upwards.
8. Determine the final speed downwards.
9. Determine the acceleration.
Conclusions: Describe the path of the projectile and its speedat the beginning of its journey, (t = 0), at the top of its path, and when it returns to the starting point at the end of itsjourney.
