notes for different parts ^ is the question to answer
Procedure: Set Up: Materials: 1. 2. 5-turn coil of wire 3. small solenoid 4. large solenoid galvanometer with zero scale
Set Up: Part 1: Attach the 5-turn coil of wire to the galvanometer. Thrust one of the bar magnets through the coil, record what end of the bar magnet is being thrust into the coil and the direction and magnitude of deflection of the galvanometer needle. Note and record the magnitude of the deflection of the galvanometer when the magnet is pulled back out as well. Part 2: Repeat this previous step with the small solenoid coil attached to the galvanometer. Part 3: Then repeat with the large solenoid attached to the galvanometer. Part 4: Place two bar magnets together to make a more powerful magnet. Make sure that the North and South poles are aligned together so that you have two of the same poles at each end. Thrust them into the large solenoid and observe the deflection of the galvanometer needle. Try different rates of speed for pushing the magnets into and out of the coil and compare the deflections of the galvanometer needle. Record your observations. Part 5: Place the magnets in the large solenoid. While the magnets are stationary, does the galvanometer needle deflect? Move the solenoid back and forth while the magnets are stationary. Observe the motion of the galvanometer needle. Record your observations.
Record your data in the table below: 1 Magnet 5 Turn Coil Slightly moved 2 Magnets unnoceable Moving Coil unnoticeable with 2 Magnets Galvanometer Response Small Solenoid +4uA inside -4 uA outside Large Solenoid +30 inside - 30 outside What is the effect of changing speed on the EMF/Current produced in the +50 inside 25 turn coll-Induction -50 outside -10 uA inside +10 uA outside +10uA inside -10uA outside
