If the targeting vector did not contain a selectable gene such as neomycin.... a. the vector would not be able to recombine the gene target b. the vector would recombine, but it would not be specific to the target gene c. there would be no easy way to distinguish genetically modified ES cells from parental ES cells. d. all of the genetically modified ES cells would be neomycin-resistant
