Drive to an Efficient Workplace
The need for a standardized terminology is about creating an
environment where data and/or information is not lost. The
idea of translating or interpreting different code sets to describe
the patient experience would be very time consuming and
inefficient. With that said, I would like to touch on
inefficiencies as a driver for development or adoption of new
technologies. The discussions in this class trend toward the
care of patients. That is one of the goals of a health care
organization, however no organization cannot survive if they are
not profitable. So, whether it is standardized terminology or
a new system, the driving force is to improve
profitability. What are your thoughts?
