Strategic analysis refers to an evaluation of an organization's
work environment. This work environment generally defines how the
organization operates its business. Strategic analysis helps two
determine the function of the organization and whether goals and
objectives set by the organization can be met (Vincenten et al.,
2019). SWOT analysis is a strategic planning and strategic
management technique used to help a person or organization identify
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to
business competition or project planning. Evidence-based practice
is the objective, balanced, and responsible use of current research
and the best available data to guide policy and practice decisions,
such that outcomes for consumers are improved (Melnyk &
Fineout-Overholt, 2019). Evidence practices and strategical
analysis go hand in hand with their initiatives to improve an
organization using the most current and up-to-date initiatives
proven to be successful (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2019). To
remain current and efficient organizational leaders should rely on
current evidence-based practices. In a non-clinical setting,
evidence-based practices still can be applied to improve the
overall efficiency of the organization. There are many tactics that
can be applied by healthcare administrators to improve healthcare
as a whole especially when it comes to the efficiency of the unit
they are in charge of. Administrators can apply research practices
to workflow initiatives to promote more patient interactions among
their staff. For example by distributing many administration tasks
like scheduling appointments, taking vitals, and assisting in
patient intake to other non-clinical staff or clinical staff,
treating providers will have higher turnaround times in inpatient
interactions they see in a day.
