Title : Design a power electronic circuit which converts A.C to D.C using a step down transformer, four diodes and connected across a resistive load, Simulate the DC output of the HVDC rectifying component using MATLAB/PSPICE or any equivalent software Assignment I (10%) "Electrical power generated in power plants is transmitted to the load centre on a three phase A.C transmission line, however for bulk power transmission over long distances HVDC is preferred. HVDC system has a rectifying and inverting component. The student has to design the rectifying component and simulate its performance using software Synopsis Course Outcomes : This assignment / project attains to the following CO(S): Tick CO1: Describe the operation of power electronic devices and circuits. CO2: Design rectifier and chopper circuit. CO3: Elaborate the application and protection of power electronics. *Note: Tick () which is appropriate
Design and construct the rectifier circuit • Simulate the power electronic circuit Generate the output voltage waveforms for different values of resistive loads Systematic presentation of the reports shall include: Aim • Objective • Theory/Circuit diagram • Simulation/Output Inference
