Figure 2.2 truck 27.0 m/s Before collision truck 20.0 m/s After collision trailer trailer 22.0 m/s Vtrailer = ??? b. Refer to Figure 2.2. A 1200-kg truck traveling at 27.0 m/s crashes into the rear of a 9000-kg trailer which is moving in the same direction at 22.0 m/s. Immediately after the collision, the truck is moving at 20.0 m/s (same direction as before). Based on this information, answer the following: (i) How fast was the trailer moving immediately after the collision? Present your answer as 2 significant figures. (4 x ½ mark) (ii) Is kinetic energy conserved in the collision? Provide the calculation to back up your answer. (4 x ½ mark)
