Run 2 Run 3 Units Pressure at compressor discharge Run 1 psig Pressure at throttling valve inlet psig Pressure at throttling valve exit Pressure at compressor suction psig psig or inHg if suction Flow rate of R-134a Ibm/min Temperature at evaporator inlet (Tl). "F Temperature at evaporator outlet (T2) F Temperature at compressor inlet (T6) °F Temperature at compressor outlet (T5) Temperature at condenser inlet (T4) Temperature at condenser outlet (T3) °F Power consumed by compressor °F "F w Calculations and Results: Please perform the following calculations. 1. Average all three sets of data 2. Using the temperature and the pressure at the different locations of the experiment, determine the state points at these different locations and place them on the pressure vs. enthalpy graph found in Appendix A and show the cycle that is being studied. Please remember the pressures recorded are gauge pressure and the graph uses absolute pressure. Please convert these by adding 1 atm of pressure (14.7 psi) onto cach reading remembering that the pressure at the compressor inlet might be below atmospheric pressure and therefore is considered a negative value when determining an absolute pressure. 3. Determine the enthalpy at each location using the pressure vs. enthalpy graph or data from a thermodynamics textbook 4. Determine the rate of cooling, heating by using Equation 1. Calculate the coefficient of performance of the cycle by using the rate of cooling just calculated and the compressor power measured by the power meter as shown in Equation 2. (=mhour-hi) (1) СОР, re cooling W (2) The results section includes a table of the raw data collected. The section also shows the results of the calculated data. The tables in this section are concise, accurate, and are nicely formatted: that the data and results are easily determined and nicely presented.
