hub length, 3.75 inches; flange diameter, 10 inches; flange
thickness, 1.0625 inches; bolt diameter, 0.75 inches; bolt-circle
diameter, 8.25 inches; number of bolts, six; and key size, 0.75
inch square. All parts are made of SAE 1020 steel, annealed (sy =
42 ksi). This coupling is rated at 50 Hp at 100 rpm. a) Determine
the bearing and shear stresses in all parts of the coupling. b)
What factor of safety does this coupling have? (20 points)
