Please choose all correct statements regarding the relative values of these electron affinities (there may be more than one answer). The magnitude of electron affinity of P is smaller than that of Si because Zeff is greater in P than in Si. If an electron is added to an already occupied orbital, the magnitude of electron affinity decreases due to electron-electron repulsion. Zeff increases from Al to Si and more energy is released when an electron is added to Si than to Al. When an electron is added to Si, the incoming electron must be put in an already occupied orbital.
