You have two wild-type haploid yeast strains: one has the a-mating phenotype, and the other the a-mating phenotype. You mutagenize both strains independently and identify colonies of each that can grow on rich media, but cannot grow on minimal media unless arginine is added. You identify 11 colonies from the a strain (numbered 1-11 in the table below) and 13 from the a strain (numbered 12-24 in the table below). You mate each of the 11 a strains with each of the 13 a strains and ask whether the resulting diploids can grow on minimal media lacking arginine (+ phenotype), or cannot grow on minimal media lacking arginine (- phenotype).
