For Case 11.3 (Case 10.3 in 5th Edition) The Nelson MandelaBridge Project (textbook page 394-395), prepare a Project Charterand Project Execution Plan (PEP). Below are the instructions andrequired contents of the two documents.
I. For the project charter, refer to the slide “Project charter”in Lecture 3 Project Planning to determine the typical contents andformat of project charter. For components with no informationgiven, simply write down the component name and indicate that theinformation is not given or you can make up a reasonable value.(e.g., “Project Sponsor: TBD” where TBD means to bedetermined.)
II. For the PEP, refer to Figure 6.1 (Fig 5.1 in 5th Ed.) in thetextbook as a general guideline and follow the instruction below.a. Part I of PEP should be no more than one page excluding figuresand tables. It can include some of the same information alreadygiven in the project charter. b. For Part II, complete A and Bonly. i. For A, include two charts. One for the Project ManagementTeam (PMT) and the other for engineering led by Engineering ProjectManager. For the latter, include only up to the lead level of eachdiscipline. (e.g., lead structure engineer, lead installationengineering, etc.) ii. For B, define only the skills and expertiserequired. Give at least one skill and/or one expertise. Recruitingstrategies is NOT required. c. For Part III, complete A, B, C, Dand G only by focusing on
i. For A, list the three (3) most critical requirements, but nomore than five (5) requirements.
ii. For B, create a WBS chart and list at least 3 work packagesidentified along with a brief description of each. No other detailis required such as resource, costs or schedule.
iii. For C, give the title or position of the responsible personfor the work packages listed in (ii) based on the team developed inPart II. Make reasonable assumptions using your engineeringknowledge when determining the responsibilities.
iv. For D, provide a list of major events, milestones, andcritical events. No specific date or duration is required. Makereasonable assumptions.
v. For G, identify and list at least three potential risks. Nodetail mitigation plan is required.
Note: The project charter should be one page and the PEP shouldnot be more than 2 pages total, excluding figures and tables. Therefore, be concise and to the point when providing anexplanation or description
