A muscle that increases the volume of the thoracic cavity will cause pressure to (1/1) which means that it is helping with forced (inspiration/expiration). A muscle that decreases the volume of the thoracic cavity will cause pressure to (1/1) which means that it is helping with forced (inspiration/expiration). 5.
