5. If John orders dessert, then he won’t eat all his salad. Johnate all his salad. Therefore, John did not order dessert.
7. If Steve finds mice in the cellar, he’s not going to behappy. Steve is happy. Therefore, he must not have found mice inthe cellar.
11. If the transmission goes, Ernie will get out his cell phoneand sit down on the curb. The transmission did not go, so Ernie didnot get out his cell phone and sat down on the curb.
12. If Leon can fix the transmission by himself, Harry willstart on the radiator. Leon could fix the transmission by himself.So Harry can start on the radiator.
15. If Anita and Gary go to Australia, they won’t go toGuatemala. They went to Australia, so Anita and Gary did not go toGuatemala. 16. If the wombat won’t come out of the cave, we can’ttake its photograph. The wombat came out of the cave, so we couldtake its photograph.
18. The camera is either broken or it’s just the battery. Itwasn’t just the battery. So, the camera is broken.
19. If the kangaroo quits jumping, Anita will take its picture,but if it doesn’t stop jumping, she’ll take a picture of the koalabear. Either the kangaroo quit jumping, or it didn’t stop jumping.Therefore, either Anita took a picture of the kangaroo, or she tooka picture of the koala bear.
