NEED HELP TO ANSWER MY FELLOW CLASSMATE'S DISCUSSIONS
QUESTION 1
.We know that cyberbullying is done online in many differententities. For instance, kids hack into another student’s socialmedia accounts and do demeaning things. And pranking anindividual’s phone. The use of electronic communication tobully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating orthreatening nature. And children may be reluctant to admit to beingthe victims of cyberbullying. According to (Dr. Lewis-Hall,2020), Honestly, I would have to agree with (Dr. Lewis-Hall, 2020)cyberbullying is the worst. Cyberbullying is done online, and it isdone to the victim(s), none stop. However, when it comes totraditional forms of bullying. Bullying affects our youth incountless ways. The way this affects our youth is depression, suicidal ideation, grades dropping, not wanting to attend schooland or drop out of school, lose interest in prior activities, loseweight, gain weight, the list goes on. We as society once aware ofthe kid doing this, hold them accountable. The parent most getinvolve if their kids are doing this to others. Also, our kids dowhat they see us do. We may think it’s cute, to make fun of someonein front of our children or via social media.
I think each school in homeroom, should make this a requirement, and be included in the school’s curriculum. If we are not drillingit into the kids at school, home and informing them of what happensand why it is not cool to exhibit these kinds of behavior. Theschools and law enforcement need much stricter punishments forthese types of behaviors. The kids and their parents should takepart in this curriculum, so the parents are aware of the tings tolook for if their child is the accused or the victim. We need tohold individuals accountable and stop making excuses for theirbehavior. Also, we can teach kids, parents, and society. Stoppulling out your phones recording and or going live when someone isbeing treating badly through some form of physical abuse orbullying. Instead, pull out your phones and call the police, and ortheir parents.
Within the community, the Churches, and different groups along withthe police departments and organizations, can come together to havesessions on “cyberbullying”. The community must get involved. However, this upbring should be taught at home. Children do exactlywhat they see others do. Unfortunately, some parents are just asmuch of a bully like their kids. Where do you think they retainthese behaviors from?
QUESTION 2
Bullying among children has been an issue for a long time butnow it has gotten more lethal with the internet. Cyberbullying ismore dangerous than the traditional norms of bullying because theinternet is vast and reaches anybody, wherever, and anytime. If aperson has a mobile device anybody can be cyberbullied or becyberbully. Our youth are the most affected because we are on theinternet the most out of any other age groups, being on socialmedia the most where the cyberbullying happens the most. Accordingto the research, children on social media have differentpercentages on different apps of being cyberbullied with YouTubebeing the highest at 79%. (Security.org Team, 2021) People arecyberbullied because of jealousy, insecurity, or resentment againstsomeone else on the internet based on their post or theirpersonality. Especially, among teenagers in school who cyberbullieswithout thinking of the consequences the damage they cause withtheir words or photos because they still evolving and has morematuring to do and only thinking of how to hurt others the way theyare hurting. People really bully others because they are hurting oranger and want to take it out on other people because they only seethe glamours surface in a person’s life and not what is within. They only see what they want to see and do not understand thatpeople have their own issue they are dealing with, it may not seemlike an issue to them, but it is. Everybody has their own issue inlife different from issues in other people’s life.
As a society we can inform the risks of cyberbullying in schoolsand inform the problems of bullying in general. This society hasproblems deciding on what needs to be more prioritized. We couldteach everybody the signs of cyberbullying so; they know what tolook for to stop it before it gets out of hand. We need to talk anddiscuss the concern with the internet and the effects it has onpeople, especially on our youth.
Cyberbullying is a major situation that has been going on for aslong as the internet has been alive. The internet is never-endingwith a storage that never gets deleted with all its data on peoplefrom all over the world. Cyberbullying can be stopped with the helpof the people in the world, not just the people in our society, because people are the root of it all with emotions of peopleoverpowering them making them forget that how the other personfeels with all the attacks that is going toward them. We are alldifferent but the one thing we should all agree one is that we havefeelings that need to be considered when we are mean or bullyingsomeone.
