Question 2 A mixing tank shown in Figure 2 receives feed from two different streams of liquid. Stream 1 has volumetric flowrate Fi and temperature T₁. Stream 2 is equipped with a pump and delivers fluid at a flow F2 and temperature T₂. The level of fluid in the tank is given by L. The tank is assumed to be well-mixed. The temperature of the liquid in the tank is given by T. The outlet stream (Stream 3) is equipped with a pump which delivers a volumetric flowrate F3. The tank level and the outlet tank temperature are measured. L T F₁. T Figure 2: Schematic diagram of the mixing tank a) Calculate the degree of freedom based on the information given. Clearly list the parameters, variables, and equations for the system. Derive the dynamic models that relate the input and output of the system with a proper assumption. State ALL assumptions with the proper justification. (15 Marks) b) Derive the transfer function which relates T'(s) and Fi'(s). Linearize all the non-linear terms if applicable. Put the transfer function in standard form. What is the order of the process? (10 Marks)
