Two parallel loads are connected to a 120V (rms), 60Hz power line, one load absorbs 14 kW real power at a lagging power factor of 0.7 and the second load supplies 5kVAR reactive power at a leading power factor 0.8. Please determine the following (a) The combined complex load (b) Find the size in KVAR of the capacitor necessary to raise the pf of the combined load to 0.95 lagging. (c) Calculate the currents of the combined load before and after installing the capacitor obtained in (b)
