It has been recently noted that the presence of antibioticdid not affect the rate of gene sharing among bacteria. That is;increasing antibiotic in the environment did not make the bacteriashare the resistance genes more/lowering the amount of antibioticdid not make the bacteria stop sharing the genes. Propose onepossible hypothesis to explain this observation. That is; why wouldbacteria share these genetic elements at constant rates?
