Figure 3B shows part of the wall frame system used in theconstruction of a childcare centre. The system shows internal wallstuds and noggings. Structural cladding, which is not shown in theillustration, is nailed on both sides of the frame. The wall studsare of grade MGP10 and have a cross-section of 190x35mm.
The childcare centre is to be built in Port Lincoln, SouthAustralia using seasoned Western Hemlock. The wall studs are 4.8mhigh and have intermediate restraints, only in the direction shownin Figure 3B.
As part of the combined action check for the wall studs, ONLYdetermine the following:
Note: G=permanent load fromroof; Q=imposed load from roof during constructionand Wu=wind load (other than wind actionreversal).
