Explain, in your own words, why reducing the low pressure in the vapor-compression cycle does the following things: • allows for cooling to a lower temperature • reduces the coefficient of performance Assume everything that is not directly impacted by the low pressure condition remains the same (ie, the high pressure states are identical). Consider an R-134a ideal vapor-compression cycle with a high pressure of 10 bar. Compare the coefficient of performance and cold-side temperatures possible if the low pressure is 3 bar versus 2 bar. (These should be fairly similar to the ideal cycle in your refrigeration report!)
