A 60 Hz generator having inertia constant H-5 MJ/MVA and a direct axis transient reactance X'=0.3 per unit is connected to infinite bus through a transformer and 2 parallel transmission lines as depicted in Figure 9. The generator is delivering active power of 0.8 per unit and reactive power of 0.074 per unit when a temporary three phase fault occurs at Bus 1. When the fault is cleared, all lines are intact.
