2000 A Catchment area in Cape Town collects storm water at a rate of 10m^3/sec. This water is collected into a concrete storm water channel that is 2m wide (indicated in the above image). The channel has a bed slope of 1:60. The water height is between 0.5m and 2.0m. 1.)A Mathematical approach using the Bisection method will be used to estimate the height of water (h) in the channel. 2.)Octave will be used to estimate the height of water (h) in the channel. 3.)a graph comparing the mathematical estimate of Q(h) vs the Octave estimate of Q(h) will be shown.
