Design, with specifications, the basic diagram of a 4 GHz to 900
MHz Down Converter.
Procedure: Using off the shelf (OTS) parts when possible,
specify all the components required to down convert a 4 GHz RF
signal to a 900 MHz IF. The Band Width should be +/- 100 kHz , have
at least 20 dB of conversion gain with 2 dB of less noise
figure. Explain if the circuit is high side or low side LO
injection and locate a +10 dBm Level or higher mixer to cover the
frequency range. There should be enough filtering to allow the 900
MHz signal to pass freely with at least 40 dB of out of band
rejection. Note all the frequencies developed at each stage
of the block diagram and list power levels in dBm, including what
LO was used. Draw the block diagram on this page (or
another), include your process analysis for each stage and list the
OTS parts to operate in a 12V system.
