Assignment Tasks Q1. a) A low frequency Transmission Line (TL) has R=6 ohms, L=2.2 mH, C=0.005 mF and G=0.25 micro mhos per km. It is 100 km long. At a frequency of (5000/21t) Hz, calculate: i. The terminating impedance for which no reflection takes place; and (5 Marks) ii. Attenuation in dB suffered by the signal at the load. (5 Marks) b) A 50N transmission line is terminated by unknown load impedance. The standing wave ratio is measured as 1.5 and first voltage maximum is observed at a distance of 0.157 from the load. For this setup, calculate the load impedance by calculation method. (15 Marks)
