My bank sent title to the wrong dmv and my car was recently towed for lack of registration. Can I sue the bank for towing fees? I recently requested title from my bank, which informed me that it would take 2 weeks to process. After that time, I contacted the bank and the bank informed me that the title was already faxed to the dmv. However, my car was recently towed for lack of registration. I found out that the title was faxed to the wrong dmv. In order to receive my car, I need to obtain title from the wrong dmv and show it to the towing company and then pay $600 in fees. Can I hold the bank responsible for paying these fees since they are responsible for the delay and the lack of title at the time of towing? What, if any, recompense can I receive due to the bank's error in delivery of my documents?
