Item 1 A new over-the-counter home sperm count test has been developed to test whether it is as accurate as a laboratory test. An epidemiological study is done to compare the validity of the new test. The study compares whether men have a normal sperm count (more than 15 million sperms per milliliter) or abnormal sperm count (less than 15 million sperms per milliliter). The study includes 1754 men who proven normal sperm count by laboratory standards and twice as many men who have abnormal sperm count. The study found a total of 1772 positive home tests for normal sperm count. Of the men with lab-proven abnormal sperm count, the home test erroneously showed that 105 had a normal sperm count.
