what can you say about this two discussion text.
1) During this course I have learned a lot more about signs
and symptoms of conditions and diseases I was not even aware of.
The identification of signs has come increasingly more dependent on
the doctor as time and technology have progressed ("Medical and
Health Information"). While I am not a doctor, I will be spending
more time with patients getting vitals and assessing symptoms. It
is important in our line of work to really listen to the patient
because a symptom that could be considered normal to them, may flag
us to a hidden condition or disease. I was not aware how much
damage STDs can do if left untreated, so knowing the signs of an
undiagnosed STD, can allow us to order correct testing, get
treatment started, and prevent further damage. Communication among
healthcare professionals, the patient, and the patient's family
members is critical in the cycle information gathering,
integration, and interpretation (Balogh, Erin P.). I have been a
patient of a physician that really could care less about the
symptoms I was having and unfortunately, I suffered for years
before my condition interfered with my daily activities. I do not
want to ever be too busy or feel so righteous that the patient is
not heard or taken care of. There are far more examples I have that
have opened my eyes to more knowledge about conditions and diseases
but I will also never stop researching and learning.
2) Throughout this course, I have been able to further my
education and learn things I did not know before and expand my
knowledge in things I had reviewed previously. This course played a
big part in my learning experience and will be of great use in the
future. I was able to learn different diseases and how to diagnose
them, as well as their treatment methods by the use of the
scenarios provided in the weekly assignments.
Due to this course, I will be able to put in practice all the
knowledge I was able to receive as I progress through my studies
and career, as I will be able to use the scenarios provided in
order to determine different diagnosis for patients and know what
their symptoms are, what to order and the different methods that
can be used for their treatments, and provide the best care
possible for my future patients.
