Q2. Drug H was given via i.v. bolus. The pharmacokinetics of drug H can be described by linear one-compartment model. The volume of distribution and half-life of this drug are 18 L and 4 hr, respectively. If patient Y was administered this drug twice a day (BID). a a) Calculate the accumulation factor at steady state (4 points) b) Calculate the average concentration for a dose of 500 mg (4 points) c) Calculate the maximum and minimum plasma concentrations in the body when patient Y receives the third dose of 500 mg drug H (i.e. what is Cmax ,3 and Cmin,3 ?). (4 points) d) Calculate the maximum and minimum plasma concentrations in the body at steady state if patient Y receives drug H at the dose of 500 mg (i.e. what is Cmax,ss and Cmin,ss ?). (4 points) e) How long is going to take for drug H to reach steady state? (4 points) 23
