INITIAL Assignment #1 Completely inelastic collision A car of mass m=1100 kg traveling east collides at an intersection with a truck of mass m2 = 3400 kg that is traveling north. The two vehicles are locked together after collision. By examining the wreckage track mark, its speed (v) and direction () right after collision can be determined. These in tum, can be used to estimated the speed of the car (val) and the truck (v2) before collision, by applying the momentum conservation law. a) Write an expression of the velocity vs, using the variables given above: ms, 12 V, 0. b) Write an expression of the velocity v2, using the variables given above: mi, m2, vy, 0. c) Assume vy= 25 m/s and 8=65 deg. calculate the magnitude of the d) Calculate the magnitude of the Y.
