A piston-cylinder device with a set of stops initially contains
0.6 kg of steam at 2.0 MPa and 500°C. The location of the stops
corresponds to 50 percent of the initial volume. Now the steam is
cooled. Determine the (a) isobarric compression work if the final
state is 2.0 MPa and 250°C and (b) when the stop is engages (c) and
find the temperature when the pressure is 0.5 MPa. Note that the
pressure will remain constant until the stop is hit then the
pressure will begin to decrease.
