A rectangular footing is carrying a 300x300mm column with loads as shown in the table below. The effective soil bearing capacity of the soil is 320 kPa. Use fc' = 21 MPa, fy = 276 MPa, and diameter or reinforcement to be used is 20mm. Refer to the loadings below. LOAD P(KN) M(KN - m ) DEAD LOAD 430 KN 20 KN-m LIVE LOAD 180 KN 50 KN-m EARTHQUAKE 140 KN-m 1. Determine the minimum dimension of the footing If the width of the footing shall be half the length, in multiples of 1000mm. [ 5pts] 2. Determine the minimum thickness of the footing in terms of one-way shear along the short direction, in multiples of 10mm. [ 5pts ] 3. Determine the minimum thickness of the footing in terms of one-way shear along the long direction, in multiples of 10mm. [ 5pts ] 4. Determine the number of bars required along the long direction. [ 5 pts] 5. Determine the number of bars required along the short direction, within the bandwidth [ 5 pts ]
