(a) Look up the weight of the average human head in kg.
(b) A mobile phone transmits around 2 Watts of radio frequency
(RF) signal power. Assume that around 40% of the transmitted RF
power is absorbed by the head. Estimate the average specific
absorption rate in Watts/kg by multiplying the transmitted power by
the percentage of power absorbed (expressed as a decimal) and
dividing by the weight of the head in kg.
(c) Compare this value to the FCC SAR limit for partial body
(head) radio frequency (RF) exposure.
(d) What might be missing from this simple analysis?
