Suppose we construct an infinite cylider ceneterd on the z axis,
of radius R. We distribute charge so that the space density
is ρ =α/s sin (Π s/R) inside the
cylinder and 0 outside. Find the elctric field E and electric
potential V everywhere (inside and outside). Find the amount of
work it takes to move a charge q from center of the cylinder to its
edge.
