For a symmetrical coupled system, the decrease in energy
(with respect to the uncoupled case) is A, as shown by
eqn (5.38). Show that, for an unsymmetrical system (H11 /=
H22) with the same coupling (H12H21 = A2), the decrease in
energy is less than A.
