Y be the outcome (college GPA)
D be the treatment. Suppose that there are only two levels of
drinking, D = 0 means the student does not drink or only consumes
in moderation. D = 1 means that the student drinks
heavily.
You have data on Y and D for a sample of 5,000 college
graduates.
