Provide a plausible reason for the difference in IR stretching for the CO ligands in the complexes Mo(CO)3(PF3)3 (2040 and 1991 cm-?) and Mo(CO)3(PMe3)3 (1945 and 1851 cm-). Given that both compounds display 2 bands for the stretching of their CO ligands, is it possible to deduce whether they are the mer or fac isomer?
