As an athletic trainer, you are working a football game when
your linebacker collides (head to head) with the opposing team’s
fullback and both athletes fall to the ground. The fullback (an
opposing player) stands up and walks toward his sideline noticeably
stumbling and confused. The linebacker (player for the team you are
supervising) stays on the ground motionless. As you approach the
athlete, he is still not moving but you can see the rise and fall
of his chest. Thoroughly explain the steps you would take in the
acute care of your athlete.
