Hello,
I need a 2 page essay about COMPARISON AND CONTRAST and I need it in 2/3 days pls. DO NOT COPE FROM ONLINE PLEASE. Directions are in the bottom. I will pay extra if i need to
Thank you
Assignment:
In this paper you will be asked to compare two items, showing both their similarities and differences. Your drafts might explore both equally, but your finished product will emphasize one over the other (usually the most interesting or surprising). The other might be mentioned briefly in your introduction or discussed in more depth in an opening body paragraph, but the bulk of your paper will discuss only one.
Your comparison must reach a significant conclusion, so it may take you several drafts to discover what you think about the two objects. In the end, one job candidate must be selected, a car must be purchased, or a software program must be selected. It would not be enough to tell your boss that the two programs have similarities and differences. He already knows that, and you will be fired. “These two things have similarities and differences” is NOT a significant conclusion. See the sample thesis statement on page 240 for further clarification.
You will find it profitable to imagine a context for your paper. Why is the paper being written? To whom is it addressed? Why are you writing it? In other words, imagine your purpose, audience, and role.
As in previous papers, write an interesting introduction, use concrete details, and have a clear thesis that is developed throughout the essay. Begin with a provisional thesis (“the two stories have similarities and differences” is fine at first) so that you can get started, but be prepared to revise the thesis several times as you discover more about your topic (“the author makes similar use of setting and symbol to develop the stories’ themes”).
Methodology:
Be very flexible while completing this assignment. At first you will probably have no idea about your significant conclusion, so your ideas and your thesis will change throughout the process. This means that this is not a paper to leave until the final weekend. Begin writing today, and return to the paper frequently. This assignment is much more difficult than it seems.
On pages 236 - 237 and 239-240 our text describes two methods of organizing your paper, the subject-by-subject method (block style) and the point-by-point method. Either method may work, but be willing to change as your drafts progress. The block style is often a good way to begin, but when your ideas take shape, the point-by-point method might be better (it is often shorter and clearer).
Topics: Your text lists a variety of topics on pages 264 - 265. Feel free to choose one of these topics or to modify it to suit your interests, Two jobs, for example, might become two bosses or two teachers. Two homes of friends may become two different parenting styles. Don’t be afraid to have fun. The topic “vampires and zombies” could be both instructive and entertaining. You may also choose to be current - the difference between the corona virus and the H1N1 epidemics.
Further topic suggestions may be found on links available on Blackboard.
