My impressions of what western civilization was has
changed over this course in many ways. I never knew that the Roman
empire was apart of western civilizations. Something that surprised
me was learning that nobody really knows exactly how the roman
empire fell and that people think it was just a combination of
things. History helps to inform our understanding of the present
because it teaches us many lessons to learn from. I believe that
without the teaching of history we are doomed to repeat it. History
teaches us our successes, failures, and things to be grateful
for.
