Anestercher believes it is likely that household Internet downloads were higher during the Covid-19 lockdown periods of 2020. To examine the impact of Cavid lockdows on internet activity the researcher surveyed a group of 48 households (population 1) in Sydney during the first lockdown period in April 2020. The sample average monthly download volume was 275GB with a sample standard deviation of 22GB. Later that year in August, once lockdown had ended, a sample of 52 Sydney households (population 2) were surveyed revealing an average monthly download volume of 263GB with a sample standard deviation of 27GB. In both samples the data follow an exponential distribution. 1) The appropriate alternative hypothesis is that sample mean during lockdown is less than 263 exactly 2) The test statistic will be < t distributed as a result of the central limit theorem
