Please ans both
(a) A train is travelling at 24 m s-¹ on a curved track. The curve of the track is an arc of a circle of radius 150 m. i. Calculate the acceleration of the train and state its direction. ii. The train has a mass of 42 000 kg. Calculate the centripetal force acting on it. Later in the journey, the train is moving on a straight track at 2 m s-¹ in preparation for coupling with a stationary carriage. The carriage has a mass of 30 000 kg. When the train collides with the carriage, the two join together and move off in the same direction. i. Calculate the initial momentum of the train. ii. Calculate the speed of the joined train and carriage after the coupling. (b)
