Now that the government has decided that I must wear a seatbelt
when I ride in a car, the next thing you know we will have to wear
shoes with steel-reinforced toecaps to carry out the garbage. The
government should mind its own business. That’s what real liberty
means – that the government stays out of the lives of ordinary
citizens. It’s tyranny of the nanny state! I think they should turn
their attention to their own failings. Who are they to dictate what
we can and cannot do?
A. The (unstated) main conclusion of this argument is:
A. The government is too intrusive. B. The government is
hypocritical. C. Wearing seatbelts should not be legally
required.
