(c) A test CD for use in a music studio contains a series of pure tones (musical notes) that can be used for testing audio equipment. One of these tones is selected and played through a loudspeaker, producing a constant sound of a specific frequency. One of the strings on a guitar in the same room resonates with this sound, forming a standing wave. The string vibrates in its third harmonic mode.
(i) Sketch the string's vibration, clearly labelling the nodes.
(ii) The length of the string is 0.630 m and the speed of sound in the string is 425 ms. Calculate the frequency of the string's vibration (and hence of the original sound).
