Problem 1: (5 marks) We consider Young's double-slit scenario. We assume that the distance between the two slits is d = 0.15 mm. The light incident on the slits has a wavelength λ = 833 nm. We then observe the intensity of the transmitted light at a point P on a screen located at a distance D = 120 cm away from the slits. We assume that the point P is at a distance y = 2 cm from the z aris. 1) Sketch the setup, representing in particular the parameters that are given in this problem. 2) Write down the expression of the intensity at the point P in terms of the parameters given in this problem. 3) Determine whether the point P corresponds to a bright fringe or a dark fringe (we will consider only two significant digits in the numerical application).
