(c) The figure below shows the apparatus you used in Lab 2: a disc of radius R = 0.114 m, a shaft of radius r=0.0126 m and a mass m = 20 g. A string is wrapped around the shaft and tied to the mass m at the other end. The mass m = 20 g is dropped from rest for a height of 0.714 m from the floor to rotate the shaft and the disc. It takes 22.3 s for the mass to drop on to the floor for the height of 0.714 m. The mass of the shaft is considered negligible. A m (i) Determine the angular acceleration of the disc when the mass m is dropping. T
(ii) Calculate the centripetal acceleration at point A of the disc just before the mass hits the floor.
